Beauty essentials you need this semester! |
So you've probably seen tons of college essentials tips by now focusing on the school supplies you'll need to rock the semester. For today's post, however, I'll be focusing on the college beauty essentials you'll need to maintain soft, beautiful skin. Check it out!
Micellar Water
Although you're probably going to be super busy throughout the year, the one thing you shouldn't neglect is cleansing your face, especially after you wear makeup. That's where micellar water comes in. It's great for removing makeup, nourishing skin, and is far more economical than makeup wipes. My micellar water of choice is Simple's Micellar Water. I also tried Pacifica's Micellar Cleansing Tonic and it's great option. Both are available at the drugstore and can last for months.
A 3 Step System
Micellar water is great but it's not that great. You'll still need a great 3 step skincare system to thoroughly clean and prevent clogged pores from makeup. A 3 step system is going to consist of a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Clinique's 3 step system is simply rave-worthy, and you can buy their 3 step kit which comes in a bag zip bag perfect for storing in your dorm room.

Face masks are perfect for rejuvenating dull skin |
Eye Cream
The skin around your eyes can tell a lot, from your age to signs of sleep deprivation. Since there are going to be a lot of sleepless nights in your future, as well as stress, you're going to need a good moisturizing eye cream. Cerave's Eye Repair Cream keeps fine lines and wrinkles from stress at bay, hydrates, and reduces the look of dark circles.
Concealer
Welcome to college, where you'll have lots of long days, late nights and dark circles around your eyes. I basically wear mine as a badge of honor. You'll need a good concealer to cover your dark circles as well as any scars or spots you may have on your face. Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer is oil free, has excellent coverage, and lasts all day. It's so good I often go without foundation.
An Electric Shaver
You can always tell when a girl has let herself go, just look at her legs. Don't be that girl. An electric shaver is perfect for maintaining smooth skin. My electric shaver of choice is the Panasonic Close Curves Shaver. It lasts much longer than razors, it's way more economical, and is rechargeable. Best of all it even works in the shower!
Face Mask
For skin that becomes dull from a lack of sleep, face masks are a savior. Face masks are great for rejuvenating skin and treating other skincare concerns such as acne. Face masks such as the Tony Moly I'm Real Mask Sheets work wonders and are easy to use and store. You can get a variety pack of 11 on
Amazon for just $9.89. Don't have Amazon Prime? See how you can score 6 months of

Body Wash
Since you're probably going to be using a shared shower, a body wash is the most definitely the way to go. It's easier to carry around, lasts long, and much more hygienic than soap. Giovanni's Invigorating Body Wash is an all natural, organic, and super affordable. You can find the 33.8 oz at Marshall's for just $9.99.

Dry Shampoo is necessary for great smelling hair and reviving limp hair |
Dry Shampoo
Washing your hair every couple of days is going to become a luxury you'll have no time for. Trust me. Dry shampoo is great for keeping your locks smelling amazing, and reviving hair that is limp from the accumulation of oil. My dry shampoo of choice is Batiste Dry Shampoo. It's so good I even carry around a mini in my purse.
