As someone who thoroughly enjoys doing my makeup, I often forget about the dangers associated with certain common ingredients. One such ingredient is talc, and it has been in spotlight recently due to its connection to cancer. Talc is often used in eye shadows, face powders, concealers, and liquid foundations. Since it does great job of soaking up oils, it is widely used in makeup and skincare products for women with oily skin.
I recently decided to look through my makeup collection and was shocked at the brands, some of them marketed as all natural, that use talc in their products. In the process of replacing many of these products, I've discovered many makeup brands that do not use talc in their products. You'll find that the majority of these brands are Indie and are often organic/ all natural brands (I should note that many "all natural" brands use the ingredient).
